Making a difference through music
OBJECTIVES:
The MyCool Music Foundation CIO is established for the benefit of the public, the relief of those in need, by reason of youth, age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage by the provision of:
Opportunities to engage in music, singing, choirs and concerts
Musical education workshops for disadvantaged youths and adults
Grants to support those wishing to learn music
Funding musical education projects aimed at relieving the needs of beneficiaries.
PURPOSE:
The MyCool Music Foundation believes strongly in the therapeutic power of singing and music (collectively and individually) as a vehicle for unifying communities, groups and individuals and for enhancing their wellbeing and sense of personal achievement. The experience of being involved with music - in its various aspects, can be both life affirming and empowering - increases confidence and enables people to achieve their potential and ambitions – especially important for people who experience disadvantage or discrimination, for whatever reason.
The activities provided by MyCool Music Foundation facilitate one or more of the following:
Enable individuals to express themselves, improve their health and promote well being and enhance their lives through the promotion of singing and/or music.
Through access to choirs and/or music workshops, provide benefits from the therapeutic value of singing or musical engagement
Provide support for gifted and talented young people from disadvantaged/less privileged backgrounds to develop their musical and associated aspirations.
Advance music related education and support disadvantaged young people in various locations, by offering them opportunities to engage in music and singing activities, to include, but not limited, to individual classes, workshops and choirs.

The Foundation seeks to ensure an equitable and balanced approach across the diverse range of individuals and communities experiencing disadvantage, by reason of youth, age, physical or sensory disability, physical or mental ill health or financial hardship or any other disadvantage. The Foundation would wish to ensure a wide representation of disadvantaged beneficiaries in its programmes of activities.
The activities of the Foundation will involve working with the following client groups:
Children and young people
People experiencing mental health difficulties
People with physical disabilities.
People with sensory impairments
People with learning disabilities
Older people
Carers
People experiencing temporary ill health.
People experiencing challenging circumstances in their lives (including financial challenges).
